The Family Support Team at Bushy Leaze is supported by our charity and offer over 110 group places each week to support families in Alton and East Hampshire.  The community groups offer support to families with babies and toddlers in and around Alton. These sessions support families dealing with isolation, anxiety, financial challenges and family crisis offering a safe place to visit and opportunities to develop vital friendship networks. The team can signpost to their own specialist support and other agencies depending on individual needs.  The specialist targeted programmes offer in excess of 200 referred places per year, supporting families with issues such as: first-time parent / getting to know your baby through baby massage  / support for families who may have concerns about language and communication skills / children with special educational needs and disabilities  / developing parenting skills / emotional health challenges such as feeling lonely, anxious and unsure  / cooking on a budget / dads club  / parents seeking to go back into employment

Hampshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a NHS specialist service that aims to help young people aged 5 -18 years and their families who are finding it hard to manage their emotional and psychological health, and who are suffering with acute, chronic and severe mental health problems.

Our teams are comprised of a range of different specialisms such as child psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) therapists, family therapists, occupational therapists, dieticians, specialist nurses, assistant psychologists and support workers. Anyone can help you get an appointment either by your teachers, a health professional (such as a school nurse or GP) or a social worker, or by self-referral using the online form or calling 0300 304 0050 (Monday – Friday, 9am-2pm).

We would recommend talking to  CAMHS before making a referral so that we can offer advice and guidance and to decide whether CAMHS is the right service to meet your needs. CAMHS may also be able to offer recommendations about other services, organisations and things that may be helpful.

We recognise how hard it can be when one of your teens is struggling with mental health, emotional or other anxiety-inducing issues.  The impact this can have on you and the whole family can be devastating. Which is why we want to give you a safe space where you can talk with other parents and people dealing with the same situation. The sessions will include useful information that will help you understand your teen better. Run by an experienced professional facilitator, they also include valuable time to simply listen, share, laugh and cry.

Welcome to the Green Hub Project for Teens garden! You have arrived at the beating heart of the project. Through a range of activities, the garden will provide you with a safe and tranquil haven to come along to, to learn new skills, develop new relationships and to take much needed time out for yourself and to enjoy nature. We would very much like you to be involved in the development of the garden and, working alongside our garden volunteers, it is hoped the garden becomes a place that you are proud to be involved in. By contributing in the garden we hope that you reap positive benefits in respect of your mental health, development of skills and experiences and also to improve / benefit from positive social interactions.

Being a parent, whatever your situation, can be very challenging. Many parents feel exhausted and overwhelmed by the stresses of family life. For some parents it’s a particular struggle because they are also coping with issues such as post-natal depression, their or their child’s illness or disability, isolation or multiple births. That’s when parents need support. That’s when Home-Start Hampshire can help.   Due to the nature of the area people can be very isolated, especially if they don’t drive.  Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs to do and although there are books and google searches not everyone’s child will react the same, because they are all unique in their own way.  Families can be referred by anyone as long as they have the family’s permission, and can be referred for many reasons such as domestic abuse, isolation, mental health, disabilities,  new to the area so no friends or family to rely on or just the trials and tribulations of being a parent.  At Home-Start Hampshire we run a range of family groups, supported by trained and experienced volunteers who will ensure you and your little one(s) are welcomed, feel safe and have a positive experience and where families can make the first steps to regular social interaction and peer support.

The King’s Arms Youth Project (KA) is a charity that works to support the emotional, physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of young people.  We have been supporting young people for over 20 years and now have two centres – Alton and Petersfield.  Our centres are welcoming, safe spaces with a pool table, table football, games station, craft area, sofas everywhere and sometimes we also do cooking.  Each week we run a range of clubs including after-school, mentoring, young carers, additional needs and faith.  Our aim is for every young person to know their worth, fulfil their potential and to have fun.  We are open to young people of secondary school or college age; our Young Carer’s programme also accepts young people from age 8 years upwards.

We offer free information, advice and help to children & young people under the age of 26 in Southampton and Hampshire. Whatever your issue, whether it’s around mental health, housing and homelessness, sexual health, substance use, money, or anything else, our trained youth workers are available to support, advise and educate you, helping you to grow in confidence, manage your life and build a brighter future.

Our dedicated practitioners are committed to securing positive outcomes for referred children, fielding a wealth of experience, knowledge and skills to augment the strong practice of behaviour support in Hampshire primary schools. We work predominantly to provide an outreach service to mainstream primary schools, with the facility of inreach provision at a number of centres when a child needs our support away from their usual educational setting. There are also parent advice guides online to with help children with anxiety, Autism, depression, obsessions and compulsions, sleep guide and positive parenting tips.

We support Hampshire young people up to the age of 18 years who have a significant person in their life who has died or is dying. When children are dealing with the death of someone close, they may feel angry, guilty, frightened and alone. It can be very difficult for a parent, carer, close relative or friend to help a bereaved child when they are grieving too. We offer information and advice to move forward in their lives, but never to forget their significant person. We run a telephone support line, monthly age appropriate support groups and offer the opportunity to meet other families who have also been bereaved.
